Many of us savor the experience associated with that morning cup of coffee. For some it is a warm cup of nostalgia. For others, it sets the stage for the morning ritual of reflective peace and quiet.
Whether the centerpiece of wake-up connection with a loved one or or the kickstart to an energetic and productive day, like many things we enjoy, coffee too has its related precautions.
In spite of its know benefits, a recent medical article points out the unrecognized tendency of coffee to decrease the absorption or increase the loss of vital nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, and iron. The benefits of magnesium and B vitamins can also be compromised as well.
But here’s the key: in order to maximize your efforts toward optimal health, try to time your morning java strategically. Aim to enjoy your favorite brew at least 1 hour BEFORE or AFTER taking your daily vitamins and/or supplements. And then, go seize the day!
